The Role:

Operational Responsibilities

  • Effectively liaise with customers, evaluate business needs and contribute to the strategic planning of solutions.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved across all deliverables within the service offerings and method assigned.
  • Lead engagements, ensuring that throughout the project lifecycle, the solution is aligned with the Solution Design.
  • Appraising and reporting on new development techniques and vendor products, and making recommendations on the acquisition of advanced technology..
  • Be accountable for defined work assignments/projects.
  • Follow the appropriate Domain Oakton Methodology where used on Client assignments.
  • Estimate the effort to build or configure solutions.
  • Champion the use of standard business process to complete work in alignment with Oakton’s methodology, selects and assigns work in accordance with this methodology.
  • Ensure project requirements, scope, timeframe and budget are understood and monitored throughout the projects
  • Demonstrate Oakton values and behaviours and help in the management of these values and behaviours throughout the organisation.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved across all deliverables within the service offerings and method assigned
  • Liaise with architects, application developers and business/customer representatives.

Sales / Client Management Responsibilities

  • Actively participating in Pre-Sales functions (presenting solutions, proof of concept demonstrations and writing customer proposals).


People Management Responsibilities

  • Mentor, coach and share professional expertise with other Oakton consultants.
  • Contribute to the Oakton team e.g. attends domain forums, maintains resume, and completes timesheet on time. 
  • Demonstrate Oakton values and behaviours and help in the management of these values and behaviours throughout the organisation.


 Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • Expert level experience of SharePoint and SharePoint Online from a functional and technical perspective.
  • Expert skills in workshop facilitation, report generation, presentation preparation & delivery skills pertaining to consulting delivery
  • Experience in designing Information Architecture’s based on SharePoint, including an understanding of security, governance and change management strategies.
  • Experience configuring SharePoint including installation of basic 3 tiered environments.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, attention to detail and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently to tight timeframes.
  • Adaptable to an environment offering constant changes and demands.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to consult and liaise effectively with internal and external customers.
  • High level of confidence, drive and motivation.


Key Performance Indicators:

  • Quality:
  • Achieve targeted customer satisfaction rating for the assessment period.
  • Ensure case studies are created and projects are client referencable for outcome based engagements
  • Utilisation:
  • 80% billable utilisation
  • Practice Development:
  • Ensure identification, review and delivery of all reusable and new IP from each project delivery within a specified timeframe
  • Joining and leading discussions on team practice groups on the Oakton collaboration portal (Ozone). 
  • Authoring at least 12 blog posts on Ozone per year.
  • Achievement in training/certifications to develop skills, knowledge and delivery capabilities within the service line/practice.
  • Delivering or presenting at least 2 whitepaper/article/presentation at an internal or industry forum per year.
  • Business Development:
  • Identification of sales leads or contribution to proposals which generate more than $500k of revenue.
  • Identify at least 12 new opportunities or leads via establishment of industry contacts.
  • Internal
  • Meet all Oakton internal obligations for the role e.g. attends domain and practice forums, maintains resume, and completes timesheet on time.
